Excellent module, this should be part of core.

It would be great if this could work with Admin Role:

More specifically, have a look at #343249: Also enable all input formats for admin role.

Checkout the 1.1-beta1 release. I think that it does what you are looking for (although not *exactly* as described in #343249: Also enable all input formats for admin role).

Any time AdminRole updates the permissions (the module form is submitted or the admin role settings form is submitted) or the drupal role permissions form is submitted the Input Format Permissions are updated.
