I'm using Drupal 6.8 and I'm getting quite a few "access denied" error messages mainly when trying to create content. This is happening for authenticated users and for me as the main admin (user1). The issue is solved usually by a refresh or clicking the link again.

I understand I'm not providing specific details on what is triggering this, but this is because I haven't been able to isolate it. I'm asking for some advice on a few first steps I can do to try to resolve the problem. I'm using quite a few modules, but a few of the key ones I'll note here are Organic Groups, OG Content Types, forums, OG forums, and Override Node. Some things I've done that haven't resolved the issue are rebuild permissions, clear cache, and update.

As a follow-up, I'm using Drupal 6.9 now and I'm still getting periodic "access denied" messages when trying to create content. Both myself as the super admin and other roles are getting this message. It is usually solved by reloading the page or clicking the create content link again. Some things I've tried for eliminating this problem, with no luck, include rebuilding permissions, clearing cache, and updating some modules that I thought may be the suspect. Any suggestions?

I am experiencing the same problem on Drupal 6.11. We started to see this issue when we upgraded from version 5. I have not been able to isolate it either. On many create content actions we receive the access denied and refreshing the page 2-4 times resolves the issue. It is a tough one to troubleshoot since performing the same action by the refresh will resolve the issue.

When I backed of the module OG Content Type Administration that solved my issue. http://drupal.org/project/og_content_type_admin

I haven't used this module since and haven't had any Access Denied issues. Too bad, because I would like to be able to use that module.

Yes, disabling this module has eliminated the access denied issue too. I'll have to look into why this caused an issue because I have other sites that use the module and will be upgraded to 6.x.

Its definitely "OG Content Types" doing it...

I also notice that the "create global content" menu item lists items that have no permission to be created... there must be a bug
