I dont understand how to use the paypal subscription module, the instruction was not clear

I installed and configured Paypal framework and subsccription module.

I created a paypal button, put it on the my site, and tested it.

The problem is the my site is not notified of any payment made, I used the variable "auto-notify" and set it to www.my_site.com/?q=paypal/ipn but my site has not been notified of any paypal process. Why?

But which page do I return the visitor to? I'd like the the visitor to return to the 'User Registration' page so that the visitor can create an account and be given 'membership privilege'

The 'readme.txt' was not clear on whether the visitor needs to create an account first THEN make the payment to get special privilege.
I've tried both method, paying without an account on my site, and paying with an account on my site with no success on either method.

I've read, re-read and then I read the readme.txt and forums but still could not able to grasp what seems to be such a simple concept of enabling the subscription module.

What am i missing here?

Bumping this thread up, because I have been working on this for the last 3 days with no success.... the module does not make any sense.

Did anyone ever had any success with this particular module?

After posting the first question several months back, I had gotten no answers, I moved on to aother projects. Eventually I came back to this and tried to find the solution.

The problem is, user account needs to be made first AND the user email MUST be the same as the paypal address in order for it to work.

I found this to be odd that the paypal subscription module requires user's email to be the same as paypal address. What if the user have multiple email address? This is not said anywhere in the pay subscription manual. Just letting those who are searching for solution know.
