I have set up a local testing server with windows XP, XAMPP. drupal 6.8
When I try to create new content (book, page, story) I can't access the open/close fields:

  • Menu settings
  • Input format
  • Book outline
  • Revision information
  • URL path settings
  • File attachments
  • Authoring information
  • Publishing options

when I click on them the page jumps at the top, and the arrow near the field has been turned down but without any new content.
A similar setup on a remote server works as expected.
What's wrong?
thank you for any help

Hi,
I got the same thing. It's not the theme, I use Garland.

I'm using CCK, but I got the same problem with node type: image, blog and page.

I've got another site with 5.15 that is working well.

I think I got this problem with the last update.

Hi,
I just found out the problem. It was with the JQuery module.

The files where not copied properly to the /misc/ folder.

The directory farbtastic was missing.

I can't access any of those same options listed above when creating new content. The titles of the fields all show up, just they're not expandable. When I click on them nothing happens.
When editing pages that were there before, on most of the pages I have those options and they're working fine, but on other pages I have the same problem where I can't access the options.
This happened right after I moved my local site to the live server. The local site was using the same "lamp" configuration as the server, all files were copied over perfectly, and the database was the same. I can't figure out why this happened.

Anybody have any clues??
Thanks

I got the same problem when I turned on "caching mode" (admin/settings/performance)

I don't know what the problem really was. But when I disable - Cached mode, Optimized CSS files, and Optimized JS files. Then I cleared cached data, it works fine now.

I had the same problem as described on top by andrearicci.
I have the Developer module ("devel") installed and noticed that when I hit "Disable Theme Developer" the problem disappeared.
Hope this could help.

I've got the same issue(s) which still are not resolved after trying all of this thread's suggestions. Any other ideas?

Does anyone know what part of the code base or which module(s) control these links?

I have tried all the suggestions above and have also tried uninstalling/reinstalling Drupal (6.13). All files appear to be there, its a mystery why I don't have access to the above functions. I have 3 other installations where it is working fine. Please, anyone have any ideas? Thanks! - Carlo

I don't know what happened. I was working with site performance, input format (filtered instead of full html), but suddenly I wasn't able to change the settings after I posted a new or tried to edit a old message ( a blog, page or the like). I don't have access to book outline, menu settings, input format and the like as a siteadmin. Does anyone have an idea? First I thought that this could have something to do with my theme, but in Garland there is the same problem, as mentioned above. Could anyone help us out?

I have the same problem.... With abbesive theme, my Drupal 6.15 asked for some update the other day... I did make the update and it crashes continuously on the :
* Menu settings
* Input format
* Book outline
* Revision information
* URL path settings
* File attachments
* Authoring information
* Publishing options
* FCKeditor
* SWF Tools

I have deactivated SWF Tools and FCKeditor becouse I thought those modules are the ones generating errors (at least SWF Tools gave me those errors with "warning: preg_match() expects parameter 2 to be string, array given in /includes/bootstrap.inc on line 777.")
But that doesn't seem to resolve my problem....

Should I try to reinstall modules? Witch one of them ?

...and am now facing the same issue. Tried uninstall/reinstall, and all suggestions in these comments, but nothing seems to fix this. Does anyone know what the problem is?

I found that after modifying a theme the various options mentioned by others above became unavailable. I had to wipe the database and start from scratch. I was not able to pinpoint where I made the mistake, I just know it was due to some edit I made to something in the theme (Internet Services). I am now using fusion and the basic sub theme to build the new layout

Luckily I had just begun so not much time was wasted since I had not bothered to backup anything :)

ps - whatever I did was not fixed by switching back to garland or one of the core themes... whatever happened was permanent to all themes :/
