Come together with the global Drupal community in Rotterdam, 28 Sept – 1 Oct 2026. Sessions, contribution, connection, and Early Bird savings until 8 June.
I would very much like to port this to Drupal 6, but it is not a trivial
task. Much of the module will need to be rewritten to accommodate
changes in the Views/CCK modules as well as to make up for some other
modules that the MLS module makes use of that do not exist for 6.
Considering the size of the project and how much attention it would
require, it would require funding for me to take it on. But if someone
else were interested in porting it to 6, that would be great too :)
After discussing this further, I'd like to formally invite Jerry to co-maintain the module and be the lead in porting it to D6.
It's been a very busy year for me, and it's only getting busier - with little to no extra coding time available, it will be great to have someone actively pushing the module forward.
Another contributor has been working separately on a D6 solution for some time, and I hope to get a look at it this week. It sounds like an impressive effort. Stay tuned.
An update on the potential of a D6 port of this module:
At present, it doesn't look likely. I was going to take this on myself, but delays in getting access to an RETS feed ate up my development time and I ended up building a D5 system. In the mean time - though not soon enough for my use, alas - the PIRETS project (http://drupal.org/project/pirets) was announced for D6. It addresses what Arthur and I agree is the weak leg of the MLS module: the dependence on VieleRETS. CCK and Views 2 in D6 provides the remainder of what's needed for a listing site.
At this point, I would be inclined to recommend PIRETS as the basis of D6+ MLS sites. If someone would like to port the MLS module, you're welcome to contribute here.

avpadernoFYI, I approved jerry's CVS application, and granted him access to this project CVS.

avpadernoI am closing this issue since it's for a Drupal version that isn't supported.
