I have enabled Option Widgets module.

I want to make a simple drop down menu, not checkbox or radio button selections. How can I do that? It is supposed to be built in with CCK, isn't it?

I tried to select type as Text but there is no drop down menu option, only check box or radio button.

"Select List" is usually the first item in the drop down when you select "text"

Personally I get this:

Select list
Check boxes/radio buttons
Single on/off checkbox
Text field
Text area (multiple rows)

Yes, you are right!

I took it for granted that the first one is "Select one from the list"

What a stupid mistake I made :)

By the way, how can I remove the N/A (or None if using select list) from options?

If I remember correctly, try making the field mandatory (required).
