Issue Summary
You will need to bear with me. All the concepts around WebDav are new to me.
Using the File Framework Module (and all the other required supporting modules), I have the ability to add documents to my site using the "File" content type. I can view nodes, and use the gallery and the browser to see and use files. All is good.
I understand that the Fileserver Module will allow me to connect to these files using a WebDav client. I would like to do this to allow for drag and drop, file transfer, node creation, and vocabulary assignment.
When I try to connect by "Map Network Drive > Connect to a Web Site Where you can store your documents" in Vista, I get the following error:
The folder you selected appears to be invalid.
My question is, how can I isolate the issue, to know if I have indeed installed and correctly configured all the modules required?
My install differs from the install instructions in that I have Drupal installed in a directory. So I am attempting to connect using http://www.mysite.com/drupal/dav. Will that cause problems?
Thanks for any guidance you can offer.
Running
Drupal 6.8
DAV API 1.0 Alpha 3
DAV File System 1.0 Alpha3
File Taxonomy Server 1.0 Alpha3
Followed Instruction for Inclusion of Pear (Shared hosting version)

Vista has a bug with webdav/network folders. I'm certain that is your problem, and have fixed it in the past...but have been unable to locate the precise hotfix to solve it again. Do some research and post back if you can figure it out, will ya?

Any hints on the vista / xp login problem? I've got it working for anonymous users, but not authenticated users. Other webdav clients work fine.

This helped. If you cannot connect, try opening a cmd prompt and type:
net use * http://yourdrupalserver.com/dav
