This is very much in the 'dream on' category, but as I've been building my personal bibliography I realised that it would be nice if I could somehow describe each publication type so that the default biblio page would display the listings if the display or filter was by type. The same could be useful for keywords or the proposed collections.

This sounds vaguely familiar. Do you mean some sort of descriptive text prior to each category listing?

What I have mind is output along the lines:

Conference Papers

Papers presented at various conferences over the years. Most include a PowerPoint.

or possibly applying the same for keywords (which is less important for me).

I know some modules use the term description field in the taxonomy module (e.g. weblinks) to achieve a similar effect.

Actually, I have just such a field (called "description") in the table (biblio_types) that holds the names of the publication types. There has just never been a way to populate it, nor has it ever been used, but I knew it would come in handy some day :-)

I'll add a text box on the "admin/settings/biblio/types/edit/100 (etc)" pages so you can input a description and provide an option to turn these descriptions on or off.

Ron.
