In the documentation nothing is said about how this module relates to the node permissions. Because of this bug http://drupal.org/node/358175 I cannot tell any more if the core node permissions overrule TAC or TAC overrules the core node permissions. Would be good to include some lines about this in the documentation.

I agree that this could have some improved documentation. My understanding of the relationship between core and TAC is based mostly on trial and error. See comment here:

#730258: Improve help page and add documentation to edit forms includes a patch that adds explanations of what core permissions need to be set for each of TAC's grant types, both on the help page and on the admin forms themselves. I've also updated the d.o doc at http://drupal.org/node/31601 with this information.
