Hi,
I'm just chiming in here to put in a vote to have integration with taxonomy on the dev path somewhere (soon?)
I'm thinking that the usecase is for a situation where different topical categories of material are discussed in different forums. This could be an option in addition to having the direct to forum happen by content type

@jackspiv: Thanks for the suggestion! This sounds like it could be a useful idea, but I'm not entirely clear how this would work. Would the taxonomy -> forum mappings override the content type ones? How would the two types of settings interact?
Perhaps you could provide a quick mockup or just a verbal description of what the UI for this would look like, and how it would behave?
In any case, this is not a priority in the short term, so I'm setting this to postponed. However, if we can flesh the idea out some more and clarify how it would work, I'm definitely open to rolling this into an upcoming release, after stabilizing the existing code base and porting everything to D6.
