... contact the site admin, if the problem persists." That's the error message.

Everything works except the notification. Events fail to trigger the e-mail action.

By process of elimination I have determined:
1. It's not PHP or Apache because mailings work with other modules (contact and notification of registration, etc.
2. It's not because I'm trying to send five e-mails at once (just one)
3. It's not a browser issue.

Watchdog gives me the following very unhelpful message:

"Error sending e-mail (from to )."

I'm totally stumped.

Hi,

It looks like the mail event IS triggered. However, no parameters are being passed.
I am inclined to think that your rule in terms of emails is misconfigured.

Please check the action _very_ carefully!

Bye,

Merc.

Are you working from a local server? Double check the email that you have entered on the Site information page.

You can also try to enter a specific email in each Rule triggered by Friendlist. Just edit all the actions of Friendlist rules and in the "Sender:" field enter a valid email address. We left them blank which than it defaults to the site-wide configured address.

Let us now how you fare.

Entering a valid e-mail address solved half the problem. Now the watchdog error is

Error sending e-mail (from blah@blah.com to ).

I tried editing the action to pass the recipient token correctly, but it's a dropdown and the only choice is "User2 who is invited by User 1" (or something like that). How do I get it to pass the recipient's e-mail address? All users provide valid e-mail addresses when they register so there has to be some way to pull those, right?

They are set up correctly by default. Please revert the actions. Your problem most be elsewhere as your the only person with this particular problem.

Regards,

Marius

It must be a conflict with another module. I'll let you know what it was when I get it sorted.

If it helps, I'm getting the same error from comment notifications; same error on 6.8 and 6.9:
Error sending e-mail (from %from to %to). Emails from webforms and the logger notifications work fine.

klucid’s picture

I have the same problem in 6.9 except my message reads:

Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the site admin, if the problem persists.

At least I'm not the only one.

Any solution?

I've been getting this error also. It may be since the 6.9 upgrade but I'm not sure because I only started posting comments recently.

The email logs show that the recipient field is left blank when someone comments on a page or forum.
(This is probably the wrong thread for this .. I wanted to add to sbogner's post)

Title: "Unable to send e-mail. Please... » Unable to send e-mail. Please...

I´m getting the same error message "Unable to send e-mail. Please..." with version 6.9 when try to send via webform or when creating new user. The mails will not be sent from my system.

Before I´ve added some modules yesterday the mail send process worked fine.

I have installed the following modules. Since then I´m getting this error:
- local_menu-6.x-1.5
- webform-6.x-2.4 (by the way the following error still occurs even the fix is included in this version: #360443: Empty results tab generates SQL error)

I´m also installed the german language pack "de-6.x-1.0-rc1".

How can we fix that issue? Can I help with more background information?

Steffen

The problem with "Unable to send e-mail...." was a missing configuration at my hoster. I only had to set a standard sender e-mail address which is used for my scripts. Now it is working fine.

The following problem still exist (I know ... not important in that thread, but to keep it up to date):
- webform-6.x-2.4 (error still occurs even the fix is included in this version: #360443: Empty results tab generates SQL error)

Status: Active » Closed (fixed)

Glad to hear it all worked out. Closing the issue.

Thanks for letting us know.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand your solution. Can you please write down all the specific steps to solve this problem?

I still don't have a grasp on what the actual problem is, can you explain?

ccoletta’s picture

Hey, I figured out why I was getting my error. Check to make sure you do not have extraneous checkboxes checked in your webform's Configuration -> Webform mail settings -> Conditional email recipients. As expected, it will barf when trying to send an e-mail to an address that it incorrectly pulled from a non-email field.

Not really, he is not the only one

I am reading this because i have encountered the same problem...

Just upgraded from 6.9 to 6.10 (using the acquia edition with all important modules as part of the package)....

I just don't know how to make this freakingly GREAT module to work... i had problems in 6.9x drupal version thought acquia drupal 6.10 packaged version would have taken care of it well, but disappointed.

It is a MUST work module, PLEASE treat it WELL.

Thanks all
