Past Event Views not showing previous to the new year

I have a "recent past events" block set up in views that shows events that have taken place in the last two months. It was working last I checked in early December, but when I looked at it this week (also after upgrading to drupal 6.8 from 6.6), a future event was appearing in the past events block. I fixed that, but even though I have it set to show events for two months, nothing is appearing except for events in January. Any clue if this is operator error, or is there a bug here?
