Allow user to add their own locations by clicking on the map

Wondering if anyone could explain how to allow users to click the map to add their own location and add information based off of a content type. I see the locpick option is greyed out in the gmap options. I'm pretty much trying to something similar to this ( http://demo5.mapedelic.org/node/add/user-submitted-place ) Do I need to put some php in a content template or something? Thanks in advance.
