settings revert back to default

Issue Summary

When I make changes to which fields I'd like to show, the result behaves (what the registering user sees is correct to what I set it to) but the admin settings revert back to the default....so that if I make further changes, I have to set all my preferences again or what the user sees goes back to the default.
