Issue Summary
How do you integrate the calais keywords into a map? And can users search for stories that are close to their zip code? I have installed location, gmap, geonames and calais but I am a little confused at where to start. Thanks

I`m also interested in an explanation of how to use Geo Calais. It should work automatically, but it doesnt. The only thing I can suggest is to use 3-rd party services for extracting geo information from terms. But in this case - why the module exists? :)
I didnt manage yet how to make it work properly, or to work somehow $)

Hey there.
I have some updates to Calais Geo coming out with the newest release. While it may not be everything you are hoping for right out of the box, what it will do is allow you to map Calais terms that have been geographically disambiguated, which is a pretty powerful feature. Once I get this out/stable we can talk about ways to get all the great integration that users may need.

Cleaning up the issue queue. If this is still an issue please reopen.
As far as mapping is concerned, the Calais module now stored the lat/lon of geo terms locally. It also exposes that data to Views so you can use the OpenLayers module to map them.
