german translation

I'm completely unfamiliar with how translations work-- but from a quick look it seems like since this wasn't committed when it was fresh, it might be hopelessly out of date. Especially for the 2.x version.

as far as I know, users using .po files are pretty used to many strings not being translated. At least it would give them some of them, which is better than nothing.

i don't really have cycles to look at this and I'm not comfortable simply committing a translation that possibly has a lot of cruft in it. If someone wants to roll a patch against the current dev I'd be more than happy to commit though.
