Just wondering if there will be an updated version of this for Drupal 6? Or does another module offer something like this automatically in 6?

No, there is no D6 version, and I haven't had time yet to look at CCK development for D6 either.

+1 for a D6 version.
Then I can use this to make a CCK node of a FBSL (http://drupal.org/project/facebook_link).
