How can a user email all the users members of a specific group?
Thanks very much for your help!

The Mail module appears to do the job:

I hope that helps.

This module works well if you want to send an email to all users in a certain ROLE if that's what you meant by GROUP.

Yes, that was my assumption - as no other module was mentioned specifically, I guessed the question referred to core functionality. My apologies if this was not the case.

If organic groups are the groups in question, perhaps a feature request to the organic group project would help?

When you say 'group' do you mean an Organic group or something generic like 'registered users'?

I too would like to know if mail.module works for your situation.

I am looking for this feature too.

My idea is create groups like gmail, hotmail ...

This groups could be private or public, setup by user or admin .

It is not Organic group or even mail.module

The Idea is same mail.module unless use user role will create another module to "group of user"

My idea is when for example have a user field in ccktype these groups appear like users (in same table)

Like gmail does, when you write a email and start type appear users and groups.

It is a simple suggest with huge impact.

Cheers.
