Problems creating a button to insert teaser break

I try to make a new button that inserts Drupal's teaser break code, but with no luck.
I have simply added the
code as a new button with a caption, and uploaded a button image.
I can see the text caption in the settings page, and add it to the toolbar as normal, but the button does not show.
Am I missing something obvious?

hm, just trying to get that code to show here in this issue:
[!--break--]
(replaced < with [ and > with ]...)
(I am adding it as normal tag to OpenWYSIWYG)
