Hi i am new to drupal so please bare with me, i want to have all storys added to a latest news page with the latest 2 storys also being added to the front page but i havent got a clue hoe to go about it can any one point me in the right direction ie a demo or tutorial or if your really great just tell me how many thanks in advance - Alistair

Hi,
There is no News node type in Drupal core. Blog is commonly used for this purpose; which can be promoted to the Front page as well as made "sticky".at the top. Also, you can create a block for latest news, in which the titles can be displayed.

I would also look at using the views http://drupal.org/project/views module.

Sure, you can use views.
I have created a decent site without using views (www.stoxindia.org).
