Deleting an Event using phpmyadmin

I'm having an issue where I get a memory allocation error when I click on a certain event. This means I can't delete it from drupal. There are several tables involved with this repeating event that includes volunteer timeslots. Is there a certain sequence to follow if I manually delete the event using phpmyadmin? Or, am I just opening a can of worms?
