You may download 5.x version, convert it to 6.x on http://boombatower.com/tools/deadwood and test it and say what doesn't work.
And upload zipped code here.

We wont be upgrading this module to D6. Views 2 in D6 already has built in support for AJAX paging of views in blocks, so this module wont be needed anymore.

Also, Views in D6 is completely rewritten so the deadwood upgrade, while converting for basic API functions would work, it would fall apart since views are entirely different now, OO even! That said, if you need somethign specific and this module can help and be valuable for D6 I'd be happy to commit any upgrades, I just won't be maintaining anything for D6.
