Doesn't work with filebrowser 6.x-2.0-rc5

Drupal 6.9 fresh installation with only Content Access 6.x-1.0 and filebrowser 6.x-2.0-rc5 enabled
Content Access doesn't work.
it seems that role permission settings for the "directory listing" content type and nodes are not overriden by the module as they should, while for page and story nodes (and types) it works perfectly.
I have no idea about how to fix this, but I would really like to use both modules since I have a couple of dir_listing that I need to hide from the public.
Can anyone suggest where to start?
