as with the CCK fields UI, it would be great if one were able to create a new node from a draggable views view.

This should be achievable by using a combination of the Link, Token and Prepopulate modules. There is also the PopupandReference module, but I'm fairly sure this only works for creating parent nodes from node edit. It may, with luck, be able to hack something up with Editablefields. I'm planning to try all these out over the weekend in combination with draggable views and will report back.

In my opinion this issue doesn't refer to DraggableViews.
