Aquireing information from other sites.

Hi again folks,
I was not sure what part of the forum this should fit into.
My partner has an antiques site, now if one is in the UK there are many tv shows to do with this genre.
Q: I would like to get a drupal site to gather the tv listings from specific sites and out put them into a nice list on the drupal site she would like for the antiques.
Q: She also would like if it is possible to do the same thing with specific auction houses and list their items in a section on the antiques site?
Is what she is asking at all possible?

Being also in the UK, i am well aware of the power of the antiques roadshow (lol).
It would be possible, however in an ideal world you would need the auction houses and tv listings to be made available as web services. That way you could acquire the data from your sources and then display it as you wish on your antiques site. You would need to speak to your potential sources of items/tv listings to find out if they offered this information.

I think this is generally referred to as 'syndication by RSS/XML feed'.
And as stated, your options depend on how well the source sites offer syndication of their data.
Drupal has a simple built-in syndication module.
And the simplefeed module might offer more control: http://drupal.org/project/simplefeed

With that said I do not suppose that you would know the answer to the other problem I posted about cck field problem.
