I´m sorry but I´ve red here that this module was sort of a port of the Field Reference post.
But would I be referencing only revisions? not cck fields?
Thanks for enlightening me on this one, because maybe the answer is fairly easy, but I didn´t find it :)

You are mistaken about what you have read. Field Reference and Revision Reference are both based on Node Reference.
