I installed the dependency http://drupal.org/project/jquery_update module and everything worked fine. But when I installed Lightbox2 it knocked out my CCK Fieldgroups. I then installed the http://drupal.org/project/jstools module and it partically came back by giving me the ability to open them, but not close them.

there's no dependency on jstools. However it may be an issue with either the version of jquery update you're using (jquery 1.3.x not supported) or you may have installed jquery_update incorrectly.
