If you are like me and many others who might install the AMI from the interface and not have all the instructions then one might miss that you have to put in text like "drupal_version=6.9".

If you fail to do this then drupal doesn't get installed.

I would suggest that your script check for this info....and if it is blank then to default to installing the latest release.
