I noticed that some of my Calais created tags are coming through grouped as a comma separated clump.

This is an example of a list of tags created by Calais with this problem...

These comma values are the resolved entity names. This may be a current limitation of the Calais response processing in the 5.x version. Massive improvements have been made in the D6 version. It might be possible to back port a few of the processing changes without having to backport the entire changelog. Not sure when I can get some time free to look at this, if it is urgent you may want to look at the DRUPAL--6-2 branch in the includes/Calais.inc file for how things have changed. If you wind up making any fixes please submit a patch.
