Help in customising Current Program block or getting Now Playing filter to work in views

Sorry for the long-winded title. I have a view set up to deliver a block which shows the current program broadcasting. The reason I want to use this rather than the supplied Current Program block is that I have custom fields in my Program content type to allow for a program sponsor and also a node reference to linked content.

Unfortunately I cannot get the Now Playing filter to display anything other than the first program in the schedule, which suggests that the filter does not work.

If this is not possible then is there any way I could customise the Current Program block to include data from my fields? I may also wish to remove the link from the title in the Current Program block as well.
