Or alternatively, sticky everywhere except the home page, which would have it's own sticky.
I have a group of researchers who each manage several categories, and they want to be able to have their own featured articles, but if they mark them sticky (or manipulate the dates) and they're also promoted, they stay at the top of the home page when they shouldn't.
I'm using Drupal 5 right now, with Views creating my taxonomy pages.
