Yes, it's strange, but after upgrading to the latest development version of 6.x (Jan.26 2009), all views are transformed into timeline views. I had to edit each view by hand (basically recreating it). Timeline seems to function fine now, but there is something in the update that messed up all other custom views on my site (I haven't checked the default views yet).

I can't reproduce this. Can you let me know what version of views are you using and give me the step by step to reproduce this?

Well, as no one else experienced this, I'm not sure its worth the issue hanging around. I did recreate my views to correct this problem, but it happened while upgrading from 5.x to the 6.x version of Drupal.
