Work better with Content Templates

I was planning to use Signup with the Event module to allow users to sign-up for an event reminder. However, I also wanted to use Content Templates so I could designate exactly where the sign-up form would show up. It turns out that if I tell Signup (via the admin panel) to not display the sign-up form, I suddenly lack the ability to place it via Content Templates (via "$node->signup"). It would be most useful to have the $node->signup vars available to Content Templates all the time.
