I installed Painted Wall in a site which has greek text and the characters weren't displayed correctly.
I have uploaded a picture here: http://img171.imageshack.us/my.php?image=colorbugwz5.png
Is it a bug or is it something that I should change in its configuration?
Thanks in advance :)
PS: it is a very nice theme, congratulations and thank you for releasing it!

Anonymous (not verified) commentedHi bserem, thanks for trying Painted :)
I see that the font has a weird letter spacing. I'm not very aware of the font used for greek, but I'm going to look into it.
Would you be able to add this in the css just for a test and tell me if that works better ?

bserem commentedit seemed logical that the above code had to be pasted inside a section called node (above a section called footer)
I pasted it at the bottom of this section, you can see the results here: httt://www.aggelikh.gr
nothing changed as far as I can tell :(
thank you for helping :)

bserem commentedstrange...
I loaded the page from a computer with windows7beta and opera and everything was fine!
I loaded it again from my computer (vista & opera) and I see what I have in the screenshot...
could it be that this theme uses some specific font?
other themes work alright

Anonymous (not verified) commentedAll the fonts that this theme is using are websafe, but I guess greek font is different. If it was different on another computer, it means that the default font on yours isn't the same than on the other computer. I'll try to see what fond should I add to make it bulletproof for greek languages.

bserem commentedif it helps:
vista & opera in my computer -> scrambled fonts
vista & chrome in my computer -> everything ok (!!!)
win7 & opera on another computer -> everything ok
xpsp3 & opera on a 3rd computer -> everything ok (but the font is different than the one i see in chrome)
as you can see I prefer opera, although I know that sometimes this is the hard way
I could ask for screenshots from firefox and IE from friends of mine if they are going to help you
AND
I'm going to reinstall things on my pc, this is too strange, I'm starting to suspect something is broken in here
once again I really appreciate your help :)

Anonymous (not verified) commentedOk, so it looks like the default font of your Opera is not set properly, maybe check the preferences see if there's a way to specify a default font ? If this is a default install (maybe try to re-install a fresh opera, am sure there's a way to keep your bookmark if you're not using del.icio.us) please tell me so I can check if this is a general problem or just on your side.
And you're very welcome :)

bserem commentedmore feedback:
vista64 & opera on a 4th computer: bad fonts
vista64 & IE on this 4th computer: all ok
I'm starting to believe it is something that has to do with opera :(

Anonymous (not verified) commentedCould you test with version 6.2 and see if the problem remains ?
bserem commentedit remains :(
do you want me to take a screenshot?
Anonymous (not verified) commentedSure

Anonymous (not verified) commentedCould you maybe edit some font property of the theme ?
If garland works good for you, maybe you want to use verdana for greek fonts, so go to style.css, and on line 29, make sure that verdana is the first font of the list ?
like this:
bserem commentedI moved Verdana at the front of the list and it works ok but for some reason this doesn't happen in v1.3
It worked ok only in the 2-dev
Comment #13
Anonymous (not verified) commentedCool, I won't be working n version 1 anyway, as version 2 takes over, and I'll make sure to update the next dev commit to bring verdana more on top. It'll still be Lucida at first though, just remember that trick if you encounter that problem again.
Thanks for helping!
