I think it would be beneficial to display pre-set quotes to be displayed to all users in a block. I.E. You could set it up to display 5 specific quotes to all visitors on the homepage without the users having to log in or set anything themselves.

You can already do this in the Stock settings page under Default Symbols (Default stock symbols to display in the block when the user has no stocks defined.)

Then just set Anonymous user permission to Use Stock.
