Description
If I publish a comment traditionally, all members are emailed via notifications.
However, if I publish a comment via mail2web, a notification email isn't sent.
This undermines the utility of mail2web as a 2.0 listserv.
any thoughts?

k,
check to see if your mail2web comments are in a published state.
there are a bunch of patches being committed by Ian this week, that will more than likely fix your issue.

kyle - did it turn out the comments were not published? Can you test this w/ the 6.x beta 2 release and see if this issue persists? Thanks.

Ian,
Please see #394662: Comments via Mail2Web that are set to published do not trigger notification as it will likely impact the mail2web work flow. short version is if you force the comments to be published coming in from mailhandler/mail2web they do not trigger a notification. by default a comment that comes from mailhandler/mail2web is unpublished and needs to be published via the comment moderation queue, and once a comment is moved from unpublished to published a notification is sent. i see that jose is adding a custom notification module, so i bet this is about to be addressed with some new code.

The comment referenced above was marked as a duplicate of this one: #285226: Redefine notifications and node/comment approval workflow, which has been fixed and closed.
I've tested comment reply with the new (2.0) version of messaging and notifications and, along with the mailhandler command from that thread (status: COMMENT_PUBLISHED) comments properly triggered notifications.
Seems like this is fixed in the new version of M&N.

Switch to mailcomment project. Mail2web is now known as "mailcomment" due to a trademark issue with the name mail2web.
