More than one referral per point..?

Hello,
I was wondering if there was a way to require more than one referral (specifically 3) in order for a user to get a point. Currently you can only specify a point amount PER REFERRAL, but I would like a user to refer 3 people before being awarded any points.
Is this possible? Thanks for any help. :)
