Only process images that need resizing

Issue Summary

My site is image-heavy, so copying every image intended for the slider to accommodate the module uses a lot of space. I wonder if it's possible to only make copies of images that need resizing.

Even better would be resizing in the slider, but I understand that that could be tricky.
