See http://drupal.org/node/281920 for getting it onto the front page. As for the images, I tried switching the input format but the images are broken. You need to provide the proper image links and then it can be done.

Linking of images from external sources is not preferred to remove the possibility of the unavilability of the images in the future. It is stated in http://drupal.org/node/280488 that:

All images in the post should be added as attachments to the webmaster issue you created and the post should be written with all image tags using the image files hosted on drupal.org.
