Under the "Signups" tab on a node for which signup is enabled, there is a sub-tab called "Add". After using the auto-complete field to select a user, I press submit. The page is reloaded with the following message at top:
"Name field is required." and the user is not signed up for the node.

Users are able to sign themselves up for the node via the button on the node view.

Tested with RC3 from project page and CVS DRUPAL-6-1--1.

Not a bug. We have found an error in our code, hiding the Name field...
