new crosslinking module?

andre75 - November 7, 2005 - 08:33

I am wondering if something like this exists already.
Here is the idea:
I want a module that analyzes the text in a node and compares it with a table that has (Text - link for text).
The purpose is to replace certain keywords with internal links automatically.
Lets say someone runs a computer tips website and someone writes an article. On the page there is already an article about Linux. So if someone mentions Linux in their article it will be replaced with a link to the other article.
I think this can be very usefull to keep visitors on once website, to crosslink between websites or for many other neat things.
I am wondering if the wordfilter module could be modified to do something like this? The word gets replaced with the link code automatically.
Did anyone ever try to do something similar?

I would appreciate your opinions and suggestions.

How do you always find those? This is exactly what I was looking for. I thought I had to use my pitiful programming skills, but you saved my day ;-)

How do you always find those?

Put it down to too much of searching on the Net for all things related to Drupal;-) But, I think I really got it from a link in a forum posting.

Great to know it helped you.

Version 5?

Unfortunately the developer didn't keep up with Drupal. The module is stuck on v5, so I am dead once more.
