Is it possible to switch from Lightbox2 to jQuery Lightbox, without having to reload all the images I uploaded to CCK nodes?

I'm looking to reduce memory load on this site and noticed that you mention smaller file size.

I'm currently using Lightbox2 for its Slideshow features

Basically, yes, you would just have to re-save/re-configure your CCK field display settings. However, switching to jLightbox will not reduce the overall memory footprint.
