Create a tick box inline with a node reference field

Hi,

I'm looking to create a cck content type that will allow me to track whether a task has been completed.

Basically i need to have a node reference field that will have multiple values, and for each of those values there needs to be a corresponding tick box that can be selected.

i've looked around the site trying to find a solution but im at a bit of a dead end.

any help/direction that anyone could give would be really appreciated as it's the last main thing i need to complete for my site.
