Great module!

Will be awesome and very effective if enforced also on comments' bodies.

For most purposes global is enough.

I think comments are very dependent on the node_type they are attached to. for most people i think that most of their comments (and other modules that use comments in unique ways) would want to be left as the default and only have this turned on for one or two node types. I'm already annoyed at the global 'required' setting for cck_fields, so I would implore development be based per content type.

i'm wondering wether maxlength should be just an api.
and then add submodules for node(cck), and comment and contact etc.
