Since Drupal ships with the jQuery library, we can largely defer to their browser compatibility list.
Here are the recommended browsers to support in your Drupal themes:
- Firefox 2.0+
- Internet Explorer 6+
- Chrome 1+
- Safari 3+
- Opera 9+

In fact, the CSS can be completly different between IE 6 and 7. Pseudo classes are not supported in IE6! It's has no sense in thinking a website for IE6 nowdays.

i think it's not about support, it's about what the users around the world use or not use. That's why i think IE7 it's still alive and other old browsers versions too. Office people always has old versions.
