Is it working , any demo site ?
I searched for open id documentation in drupal.org but found no sufficient results.

I install Drupal 6.9 and enable permissions for authenticated users so that they can post story.
I now install the openid module

It does not show up in admin > modules by task
Any permissions to be set anywhere ??

Does any configuration is need on the webserver/webhosting side ?
Does any configuration needs to there via drupal > admin ?

Now a person tries to enter with open id but cannot do so.
What steps does he need ?
Considering he is already logged in other browser window to yahoo, blogspot, wordpress etc

With wordpress Drupal gives this error :
orry, that is not a valid OpenID. Please ensure you have spelled your ID correctly.
With Yahoo he is authenticated with yahoo with a warning but drupal does not allow access to node/add
With blogspot there is error msg
error:Invalid AuthRequest: 768: Invalid value for openid.ns field: http://openid.net/signon/1.0

If anyone has been successfully using this on Drupal 6.9 please can you help with the following simple steps ?

After installing openid in drupal what other configs/admin steps needed?
Any special requirement on the webhosting side?
What are the requirements on the user side, considering the user is not registered with my drupal site?
What does the user need to do to enter my drupal site?

Hello ! Thanks many times for the link - surprising serach did not find it.

However, it does not mostly answer the questions step by step but a 'blob' of information.

For example, it says about registering with open id but drupal 6.9 has no 'register with open id' option on the registration form.
Also this is not clear to me if a registered user has to allocate open id/s to his drupal account it means he has to register with drupal already. Thus it is not a simple step like open id progates.

Should it be not as simple as ( as some or many sites do ) : I am logged into yahoo or blogspot or wp with my open id , at the same time if I try to login to my drupal with that open id I will be simply allowed even if I have not registered at all at Drupal ??

Any documentation or post on this ?

Any simple example :

for example an user has an account like abc.wordpress.com

Now he goes to register at drupal - what username he enters http://abc.wordpress.com or abc.wordpress.com or anything else ?

Tried both in the above but Drupal says "Sorry, that is not a valid OpenID. Please ensure you have spelled your ID correctly."

If openid is so difficult and non-intuitive how is it goint to be popular ?

Tested on two sites: verisign worked, blogspot -- not.
