While Mollom currently offers a CAPTCHA point on the User Registration form, it does not look at the username (or any other information) being entered into the site.

Our site, Jewcy.com, has fallen prey to Spammers creating accounts with obviously spam-related usernames ("BRITNEY SPEARS NUDE", "LINDSAY LOHAN PORN", and the like). If Mollom examined those, I wouldn't have to manually check (and delete, which takes forever) 30-40 fake accounts every few days.

I propose an option be included to have Mollom check usernames and, as well, other specific profile fields. We have a "Bio" textarea offered to our users that, without a doubt, is filled with spam links or images in the event that a spammer creates an account. In our site, since the profile fields for a User's Bio is included in the Registration page, if we can stop Spammers by examining that field, we have further opportunities for eliminating spam users before their accounts are created.

I have never done serious contrib work before, but I'd volunteer to help a bit, if I can get specific direction.

+1 for profile support.

We've been fighting off a lot of profile spam. Having Mollom's CAPTCHA on the registration stops scripted attacks, but these are human. Typically a registrant (always from a network in some other country) manually creates an account, then returns hours later to update the profile with porn and/or drug spam.
