Someone trying to flood my system ?

In my log files have maybe 50 of the following entries sometimes when a cron runs ..
Duplicate entry 'prescribe' for key 1 query: INSERT INTO drupal_search_total (word, count) VALUES ('prescribe', 0.301029995664) in /home/mysite/public_html/modules/search/search.module on line 290.
Duplicate entry 'piggyback' for key 1 query: INSERT INTO drupal_search_total (word, count) VALUES ('piggyback', 0.301029995664) in /home/mysite/public_html/modules/search/search.module on line 290.
Duplicate entry 'shake' for key 1 query: INSERT INTO drupal_search_total (word, count) VALUES ('shake', 0.301029995664) in /home/mysite/public_html/modules/search/search.module on line 290.
etc.
Hostname 209.188.85.84
Please, is this person trying to hack my site, or flood the system? Is there a way to prevent this?

Having looked in phpmyadmin yes there seems to be flood of search queries of 1289,877 queries in the past 24hrs ..
Is there any way I can stop this please as definitely slowing down my site.

Hi, this is now really getting bad. Every hour a major flood of search queries and just slowing down my system.
Is this a security issue, please who do I ask on how to protect my site please?

You could be rude and enact the temporary solution of banning the ip :)
My guess is loser script kiddies, though unfortunately I don't have any idea how you would stop stuff like that coming in as it looks like they're abusing your search box, unless you turn it off :(

I see I'm 'hit' by 128 663 queries every 10 minutes.
Wish we had the troll.module for 6.x ..
Perhaps anyone else seen this happen?
