Are we supposed to be able to use our existing d.o login credentials or create a new account? I'm unable to login with my d.o. credentials, but I'm not sure if it s a bug or by design.

gábor hojtsyI've you've registered a week or two before the upgrade on drupal.org, your user should be on the staging site as well, yes. If you've registered "shortly" before the upgrade, then your account might not be there. You are the first I've heard who had login problems with an existing account, and you are definitely registered more then a year ago, so I have no idea why your account might not work.
Can you please retry and possible ask for a new password to see if your account is there at least? Thanks!

WorldFallz commentedResetting the password via email worked. The password must have been mangled somehow-- I tested it many times and I know i was using the correct one (the same as here on d.o). Now that I've changed it on the d6 site will it be affected on d.o or will they be separate from forward?

webernet commentedThey are separate sites and when the final migration happens, your current password should be retained from d.o.

WorldFallz commentedI noticed the site was upgraded again-- same problem. Can't login with my existing d.o credentials but requesting a new password works.
If I'm the only one experiencing the problem no biggie-- but I hate to think of thousands of people all clicking the 'request new password' link after d.o gets upgraded for real.

As If commentedAnd Open Again! Apparently I am not the only person affected. I have to request a new password every day, just to log in here. Been going on for a couple weeks.

gábor hojtsyDid you use your username with the right case? Ie. not "as if", not "As if", but "As If"? You most probably did not.

As If commentedHoly crap! You're right, Gábor! I don't think it was case-sensitive before, was it? Anyway, thanks for solving a mystery!
