Newsletter Needed

The modules available for Drupal are extensive and greatly appreciated. I am wondering if anyone is in the process of developing a newsletter module. This is the one glaring absence I see from the modules available. Ideally it would be one that allows a user to choose from multple newsletter types, while registering or editing their account and would also let them unsubscribe there. It would need all the other basic newsletter features like Html and text choices for sending as well as list management on the backend. Would also be nice to include the notify capabilities as a default part of the newsletter template, so you could send a list of changes for a given time frame and also include your own text. If this is not being done, then I am considering seeking someone out to do it.
